The settings, whatever the device
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Account type | Exchange (ActiveSync) |
| Address | the full mailbox address |
| User name | the same full address |
| Server | mail.mail-exchange.ch |
| Domain | leave empty |
The device only asks for the server when it cannot find it by itself.
iPhone and iPad
- Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account (on older iOS versions: Settings → Mail → Accounts).
- Choose Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter the address and a description, then Next → Configure Manually.
- Enter the password. If the settings screen appears, fill it in from the table above.
- Choose what to sync: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes.
Android
Two routes, depending on the app you prefer.
- Gmail: your picture at the top right → Add another account → Exchange and Office 365, then the address and password.
- Outlook for Android: Add account, the address, then Exchange if the app asks for the account type.
What the device may ask
When the account is added, the phone may state that the server “will be able to manage some security features”. This is how an Exchange account normally works: among other things, it allows the mailbox data to be wiped remotely from a lost device.
Lost or stolen device
Change the mailbox password at once, from the webmail or through your account administrator. The lost device can then no longer connect.
